Walmart cancels inventory-tracking robots with Bossa Nova Robotics

Walmart said on Monday it has dropped its plans to use roving robots to scan shelves and keep track of inventory, squashing the world’s largest retailer’s years-long efforts to automate the task. The company said it had ended its partnership with Bossa Nova Robotics, who it had worked with for five years to improve customer experience by using robots to assist shop staff and make their jobs easier.
